COMPARED TO SOME OTHER COUNTRIES. WHAT YOU THINK WE ARE MISSING IN EGYPT TO HAVE THIS STEP FORWARD TO HAVE EGYPT AS COVETED AS ALL THOSE COUNTRIES THAT ARE LEADING THE WORLD AND MANY ALL OVER THE WORLD ARE TALKING ABOUT. MY QUESTION IS AN OPEN FORUM TO EVERY EGYPTIAN, NO MATTER OF HIS POSITION IN SOCIETY. SHOULD THE GOVERNMENT OR WHOEVER , CONSIDERS FORMING A COMMITEE WITH THE GOAL OF DELIVERING GUIDELINES FOR THE NEXT (X) YEARS < I WOULD SAY 15> TO IMPROVE EVERY ASPECT OF LIFE IN EGYPT, AND WE KNOW AS EGYPTIANS WHERE ARE OUR MISTAKES AND DEFECTS. MANY COUNTRIES HAVE RAISED IN THE WORLDWIDE RANKS MORE THAN EGYPT HAVING THAN EGYPT , AND MANY OF THOSE IN EGYPT WHO COUNT KNOW ABOUT THIS FACT. YOUR HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED IF YOU ARE A TRUE EGYPT LOVER. PERSONALLY I WISH TO TRANSFERE ALL AVAILABLE KNOWLEDGE TO EGYPT AND APPLY IT TO RAISE MY COUNTRY TO THE SO CALLED ELITE COUNTRIES. PLEASE LET US BEGIN THIS FOR OUR COUNTRY SAKE AND FUTURE. A HAND ALONE DOES NOT CLAP .THANK YOU a

I would like to comment on upper Egypt only (the need seems to be different).
1) A plan for better health care and for there to be dentists and doctors available for the people.
2) Teaching children at a young age about hygiene
3) The women who have stayed at home all their lifes - teach them a skill that they can still do at home and generate an income
4) Definitely rid the practice of female ages 7-10 circumcision, through laws and religion (one other country has drawn up a contract within the families to change this) rather than using this brutal practice for chasitys sake

Mr. Abdelhameed, i appreciate your concern about what's going on here, and here what i think;

1. i don't think that the people in power and authority now are willing to do something about anything whatsoever, especially when our problems have reached the point of no temporary or anaesthetic solutions can be significant.

2. The people (which we are one of them) are desperate about the change to the better, on the contrary, i believe we soon hit the bottom. and the feeling that you have nothing to do about it, is killing me.

3. If you ask anyone (i mean any Egyptian from any walk of life) about tomorrow he will say "i don't know"
we don't know what will happen if the president dies? we don't know how would be Egypt like when that happen? does the extremists take over? would Gamal inherit (i hate him by the way)
would we live another fukcing 25 years of tyranny? NO BODY knows for sure what is the future (i don't mean our friend No Body!)

4. I consider myself one of the well educated, average middle class society, and i don't have a clue what to do to help! I mean, i want to "help" through work, my job, if you know what i mean, but it's the same...the same old story..NO BODY is really doing whatever he is doing for the sake of "right thing to do" or "public interest" no no no... they are doing that because there is a horrible pyramid at the top of it lies ONE person. and every one is (afraid or kiss *** or whatever) the above person, and so on so on.
I have talked too much. i m sorry.
Believe me Mr AbdelHameed, the day we feel there is some people at the management of this beautiful country of ours willing to help, doesn't lie, isn't afraid, and most importantly, believe in us you ll be surprised how fast we can get up.
and i don't believe (not 1%) that the people in charge now can do that. this will not happen while Mubarak is in the presidency. that's one thing for sure. unfortunately.

I am not Egyptian, but because I am in love with Egypt, I believe I can share my thoughts. As this is a very smart approach from you.

Egypt is one of a kind country, with a very unique personality as I put it.
I met lots of Egyptians, either through my traveling, working and even Novel writers that I really attached to.
Everything about Egypt is a project for success. The investment support that the government offers for foreigners, the rich history and the Egyptian people themselves are number one in participating for the development growth.
They are warm and make anyone out there feels welcome and belong.
Believe me when I say, I though once to move my business to Egypt and settle there.
And this thought is till in process.

I have all great things to say about Egypt.
There are 2 points that I would love to share with you;
-I hope the government will take an action towards poverty in Egypt. I mean when you travel to Egypt you will be feeling bad for all these people begging you for help and money. I don’t blame them, being poor is painful and hard. But do you think it’s the visitor duty to help or is it a government task!

-I have a suggestion to the Egyptian authority – could be the Ministry of Culture-: Can you offer Egypt lovers a chance to understand Egyptian culture through movies, by offering translated Egyptian movies in other languages. Let’s say: sub title for old (black & white) and other movies. I mean a new art movement. For instance: Egyptian Hollywood.

Part of understanding the American culture was through Hollywood movies on worldwide level.

Understanding and learning is the huge step towards getting really involved in the Egyptian culture through this powerful tool, the TV.
Thank you for asking and give me the chance to chat.

Egypt has gone down hill over the years because this whole century egypt was sort of better before farouk and faud .

to answer you question

The people need to understand first that there will always be muslims christians and jews etc. there teach religous and racial torlorence

stuff in egypt needs to be more standardize. they need to atrack more international companies improve liviing conditions of citizens

egypt seems to be like a big tourist trap everywhere you go there are people trying to scam tourist and cater to tourist ,

have better security in the country focus on securing the country and making it better build more cities along the mederterian and red sea's to relieve the overcrowding in cario and alexandria cario donest have to be like new york or tokoyo

set up government offices all over the country not just cario

Egypt needs to pay back some of there debts to other countries.

Get rid of Mubarak.

maybe allow foriegnors to buy land, that would bring money into the country

modernize cario . the trams are horrible better streets

build better relations with all the countries in the north africa mid east southern europe region not just arab countries.

Egypt needs to do better for its citizens it seems like they only thing they care about is tourism

require children to go to schools

develop some of the desert areas more jobs.

set up a wage system that is like in other countries and have a minumum wage and you have to pay that or about

on a national scale pegge the pound to us dollar , british pound or euro

try to make egypt like dubai

encourage immigration but only to those who would make the country better

build factories in the remote areas to give people jobs living in and near the desert

First the wages need to be raised and Egypt needs more money. Then Egypt has to improve their shoes because the quality is absolutely unacceptable for wearing. And there should be more jobs for women as most of them are house wives all their lives, when they could be out working if they were offered a job!
True Egyptian lover here!

There are many things that need to be done to improve the future of Egypt. They are divided into two kinds ; huge steps that need to be taken by the ruling regime, and baby steps by the Egyptian people.
The huge steps are:
1- Hosni Mubarak must resign. He is no longer capable of managing such huge country with huge potential.
2- "Free" elections need to take place. Not like the charade which took place in 2005.
3- Dividing Egypt into independent states. The whole "centralization" principle needs to be changed.Power is too big to be given to one person.
4- Applying "decentralization" in all fields of life. The concept of "decentralization" is too big to be explained here , but in short words , it means that every citizen should be responsible of running and making all decisions concerning the portion of work he is handling. I believe this principle can solve all the problems we're suffering from.
There are also things that we, as Egyptians can do. Books can be written about that. but in my point of view we need to learn the value of group work. We are very good at saying "big words", but when it comes to actual work , nobody cares. An example of what can be done is the ,really enthusiastic , group of people here who participate regularly on this category of Yahoo Answers can join forces to start a web site that can be used as a media means to shed light on the current Egyptians issues and to gather ideas of how we can make things better.
This is my point of view.
Have a nice day.
