Poem of the Virtuous One who has one more night to live.
'Do not regret the past,
do not fantasize about the future,
the past is already gone,
while the future has not arrived.
We can only grab onto the present moment,
carefully observing what is in front of our eyes,
without rocking and rolling fro side to side.'
Agree/disagree with the poem?

Fully agree. Balance and centering yourself in the here and the now is extremely vital. A lot of people in today's society tend to place way too much notice to what they had in the past ("The good old days") and too much concern of their future welfare, that they unknowingly ignore the most important part of their lives - THE RIGHT NOW.

Both agree and disagree, depending on what level of consciousness I come from in the moment. The poem assumes time is linear. While on this earth plane, I experience time as linear to learn cause and effect. My actions of the past influence the present; my actions in the present influence the future. But I exist right here in this moment, so that is where my attention is best focused, while at the same time, learning from the past and planning for the future.
On a Soul level, it all exists here and now, since time is an illusion. Our experience of time is relative to our state of consciousness. Haven't we all had the experience that time goes much too fast when we're having a good time, and time goes much too slow when waiting for something we want to happen?

Too negative. Starts out with two "do not"s and a "not". The word "grabbing" signifies attachment, as does word "carefully". And then we end with a "without", another negative.
Maybe:
Remember the past,
though it is already gone,
Fantasize about the future,
though you wait for it to arrive
Live now in the present moment,
relishing it with our eyes wide open
and rocking to and fro, and side to side in amazement.

of course. whole-heartedly agree. we only live in the moment.
Thus shall you think of all this fleeting world,
a star at dawn, a bubble in a stream,
a flash of lightening in a summer cloud,
a flickering lamp, a phantom and a dream.
