In Germany it's tradition for kids to open one present on christmas eve.... or at least south Germany. Never heard of a family member dressing up though...

Hi,
That looks North American, the good old USA.
Daft. The kids go "That's Dad" !
And tug his beard off
I wear a snuggly Santa costume, and my boys just giggle.
Quite right - that is all part of the fun.
I blame more copying of stuff from America.
I personaly beleive in Saint Claus, the Bishop, handing out gifts to local children, so he does exist.

Merry things for the festive season to you & yours.
Ho, Ho, Ho.

It is an old German tradition which our family has followed all our lives. We have a Christmas eve gathering of family members who are home for Christmas; we sing carols, read from the scriptures and then....presents!! I live in South Africa - this tradition has spread all over now, I think.
