The only antibiotic proven to be a problem is Rifampin. The others can cause breakthrough bleeding, and anecdotally I've heard that there can be some decreased effectiveness of your contraception, but the effect is rare.

If you are concerned, 5-7 days of backup b.c. will be ample to keep you safe.

After the last day of your antibiotics, you need to wait until you have taken seven days in a row of active BC pills. If those seven days go into the week that you would normally have a period, then you need to skip the sugar pills and start on a new pack of active pills instead. You'll miss your period for that month, and may get some spotting, but you'll be back to normal protection levels after those seven days.

Use condoms as a backup for the rest of the bc pack you are on. After that, you should be fine.
