Just go to Spain its a short flight, cheap accomodation etc
Plenty for families to do and the supermarket stock British labelled food
My son went to Spain as his first holiday at 8 months, I know I shouldnt say this but in some resorts its home from home......Menorca or Majorca........

You will get a cheaper deal if you don't go during the school holidays. Also most places are quite hot in the summer holidays, so it would be better if you go before then.
I would recommend mainland Spain or the Spanish Islands as they are only a 2 hour flight. The Canary Islands (Lanzarote my favourite) are lovely but are 4 hours. The Greek Islands are gorgeous too, think they are about 2 - 4hours.
All of these places are great for children, the Spanish and Greeks love children and will treat you all so well. You just need to think how long your daughter can sit on a plane for and how long you'd be able to keep her happy for, lol!
I've added a link for a travel agent we've been using for the last 5 years. She is very helpfull and has children, she can recommend places for you and even which apartments are best. Also as you've never been abroad before she can give you loads of advise etc...
They do great deals and if you can leave it to the last minute you will get an amazing price! If you can book 3 weeks before you fly you could get something as cheap as £80 per person for flight and hotel. We've had some great deals and great holidays!
I've also added a link for a "parent website", you can ask for some advice. Everything from where to go to what to do when you get there. Register (free) and go to the discussion forums.
Good luck and hope you have a great holiday!

To be honest, I would stay in Britain as she is so young. There are lots of great places, ie Isle of Wight, where there are lovely beaches, theme parks etc. If there are any problems then you aren't too far from home or it would be easy to get to a doctor etc etc. If you go to a holiday camp there are lots to do and you can put her in the kiddies club to give you a little break. I am not trying to put mockers on your holiday, I just think with a toddler it might be easier.
However if you really want to go abroad, then I would suggest Tenerife. There are lots of things you can do and there is a lovely animal park on the north of the island called Lorro Park. If you go in the winter, it is as cheap as chips and the weather is nice and not too hot. I would certainly avoid anywhere with dodgy water or where you would have to be careful of the food, like Egypt, Turkey or Tunisia.
Tenerife is about 4 hours flight so not tooooo long. However Tenerife would probably be really hot in summer. South of Spain would be better in the summer.
Make sure it is a child centred holiday. A toddler will not take kindly to you lying on the beach all day as their attention span is not great. You will have to consider her taking naps during the day and making sure she does not get sun burn.
Hope you have a lovely time!!

All toddlers are naughty, have a look at estival park Salou, its brilliant brilliant brilliant we have been there 5 times! It's a litttle out of season before may , but there is indoor swimming for you all too! Kids clubs and evrything. The complejo(complex) is huge and car free, theres no steps anywhere so its great for buggys and the mini club is friendly and open all day, the food is excellent and the place is spotlessly clean with lovely gardens and 7 swimming pools at least. Also three outdoor entertainment areas to choose from each night.
Next door to the hotel is a waterpark, with dolphins and the beach is lovely and clean, sand and toilets and showers all along the beach there's a great wooden promende to walk along, and it is all together a lovely resort.
If you go before may/june it is very quiet and many facilities are closed down for winter, so I would suggest going around June/july or later on in sept/oct.
I never book off their website I usually go through Thomas Cook, its usually around, £400 per person per week full board and I recommend it.

Minorcac- its the smaller island - very chil;d friendly
the island is very family orientated with good beaches
we went there with bunch of youngsters rnging fro the age of 3
Cala Galdana was perfect - nice sandy beaches and its not some godforsaken bleached beach with no shade to protect little ones deliv=cate sking.AND is very reasonable. Also had a good
DIY holiday by booking flight to Alicante and car and hiring own villa with pool in place called Moraira again child friendly

Well I went to Corfu (sidari) in September and we got speaking to a couple who had 2 children....Zara was only 2 and she loved it...she got attention (and spending money) off everyone. The best bit was when she got out the pool and started shivvering...everyone were in bits! She was soo cute. She had a brother called George who was a little bit older.
Me and my partner got 2 weeks for £325 each (including all the charges they put on holidays these days) There's lots to do like visiting the water park, there's fun fair rides at night, you can go shopping into Corfu Town. You name it it's there and it is quite cheap!

Somewhere on a package deal - if you want to keep costs down you could try a last minute deal and try self catering... If you're in the UK look at the website for lastminute.com - it's really good. Have fun - I hope you find something suitable - I'm guessing sun, a good child friendly beach and not too long a flight...

Disney is always a great choice. My youngest was 2 when we first went - she will get in free until she is 3.
The key is to stay at a hotel that is not "ON" disney resort property, but that still offers shuttle service to the park you want to visit. That way you are not paying for a fancy hotel or parking at the park.
And, it is the Happiest Place on Earth!

how about taking them to disneyland in paris they would love its
not too far, you could get the train, and you could have 3/4 days break there so would be too much for you not much of a time difference (i think an hour not sure)
i think you can even book your own pluto, or minney mouse to sit with them for breakfast! i looked up this for you http://www.disneylandparis.co.uk/index.xhtml so you can see what its like, but i'd say book else where for the best deal i reckon you could even book a baby sitter for a few hours one evening for a couple of hours so you can have a a little breather
i dare say it'd be grate fun for you too lol!
