What's the difference between uptown and downtown?

Uptown refers to the higher society class : rich, suburban, nice, big houses, etc.

Downtown refers to those poorer and living in the urban part of town.

Uptown is usally a nice area, downtown, not so nice.

uptown is elite and rich
downtown is dingy and poor-ish.

Downtown Is if you are heading southward to town
