I DONT WEAR A HIJAB BUT MY MOM DOES AND YEA SHER FACE IS ON HER PASSPORT.HER FACE ISNT COVERED, ONLY HER HAIR IS..DO U MEAN THE WOMEN WHO PUT THOSE BLK SCARVES ON THIER FACES--THEN I GOT NO CLUE.BUT I WOULD GUESS NO.

Yes! I have just applied for a passport and one of the requirements was that no part of the face be even shadowed let alone covered. They can however have their hair covered, as long as it doesn't cast shadow on ANY part of the face. there were pictures showing aceptable and not acceptable poses. The wearing of a niqab was definitely in the "not acceptable" column.

At least that's what it is in th UK, not sure about US but can't be much different.

I heard something about that on the radio earlier today. Apparently there was a law passed in 1971 which gives passport control the authority to insist on seeing the whole face so i guess the holder must have to have a full face photograph.

All the photographers would have to be other women wouldn't they? I do know that there are Arab women playing soccer and no men are allowed to watch the games!

If an Arabic woman is so ordered to wear her face covered, her men folk (relatives) would probably not allow her to travel ANYway. End of story.

I would assume you are REQUIRED to show your face in a passport.

Otherwise what good is the picture to identify you.

they have to. its sort of 'international law' with that.
the U.S. wouldnt let a person in if their pic was just a covered face. it could be anybody that way.
