Any mammal can have fleas. Your vet would have to calculate the dose of topical medication to kill the fleas. You could just take the hamster to the vet. The amount of flea medication you would need is so small, it would have to measured in a syringe. The techs in the office can apply it for you.

Entire visit should cost you around $10.00

If left untreated, your hamster could become anemic from flea bites, and/or develop an allergy that would cause itching and hair loss.

I think it may be possible but I know they have little mites already so if you see it itching its self it could be that.

I was told by a vet that giving baths to rabbits, Guinea pigs and rats (hamsters and gerbils) can cause UTI's and can kill them.

I would get a lice comb and comb over him...if you find fleas then take him to the vet or call to see what they think you should do.

It is probably more likely that your hamster has mites. I would try to find a vet that will take care of hamsters. It is usually curable it caught early enough
