Maybe so in general terms, but a whack to the shins will still bring out some new slang from even the most contented folk...

They're not necessarily happier; they're just more content with where they're at or headed in life. When you have no goals or mindset to acheive those goals, what is there to worry about other than simply living? But to be completely honest, if I had no mindset to acheive anything great, I will feel worthless, and that in return would make me more unhappy than attempting and failing at something.

Oh man, who knows. The glib response I wanted to give was, "ignorance is bliss" but while that may be true for the blessedly ignorant, those of us that live inside of our minds have to choose happiness. It sure would be nice if, like a weekly payday, we were all handed out some happiness in regular doses, but happiness is allusive and something we actually have to make a conscious decision to embrace. Life sucks *** for the most part. It's hard, it's complicated and it's way to brief...and I think that if we didn't wallow in the crap we can't change and just said to ourselves...look, these are things I can be happy about, then we would all be better for it...whether we had a mind...set or not.

I can't really speak on the behalf of others but i know that i'm not.

When i don't have a certain mindset (or at least something i'm aiming for), i feel so useless. I have to have something to do or reach for or else i just get so bored and ...ah, i hate the feeling of doing nothing and not having anything to do.
