Hello I need help. I recently purchased a wrecked 1999 Tracker and I am going to put the motor in my 1988 Samurai. I found alot of info on the net and it seems like it will be easy enough to do. The problem I have is I want to use the automatic transmission as well and have found nothing on the net to help me. I need information and the automatic install.

cut out the trans. mounting from the geo(all the mounting brackets ) i would suggest oxi cutter. weld back all the brackets to your samy(maybe you need to modify a bit , but i'm sure its better that you have a sample of it , the one that you removed from geo.

Hope it helps, "Safety First".
Merry Christmas.

You will need the automatic trans and the transfer case from the Geo. The rear mounts will have to be modified and/or fabricated. The drive shaft lengths may have to be modified. This is a swap where you are going to need some expertise in welding and fabrication. If the Geo is 2WD then you will have even bigger challenges in mating the trans to the transfer case.
