Lets try out a Genetic Engineering project. Genetic Engineering is a branch in science that deals with manipulation of the genes to produce a preferable organism. An interesting one and one that is pretty easy is determining which sex can taste better without seeing what they are eating. Simply blindfold 30 men and 30 women and give them each one lifesaver (at a time) from a five flavor pack and see if there is a trend about which sex can tell the flavors without looking at them. One of my sons did this as his project and he won the school's top award and competed at the district level. You will need several rolls of lifesavers and about 60 people willing to take the test.
