That's a really good question. Here are some things I think one should consider:
Parties, like people, evolve in their perspective and political "bent."
No party is immune to the whim(s) of a charismatic leader whose agenda may not be aligned strictly with party doctrine.
The more people are involved in the selection of their leaders, the less need for parties exist. Therefore, party affiliation serves more those who would dictate belief (and subsequently, selection) than those who are the rank and file. What we gain in population management, we lose in choice. When one selects a party affiliation, one locks oneself into a "market" and that can sometimes be very dangerous - intellectually and politically.

I would like to see a political party come in with a plan that would start to utilize some of the ideas that Socialism can work with our Republic. It works in many other countries. We have a big health care problem here and it is only going to get worse if major changes are not made soon. Also our education system needs to go Social. We should be spending the majority of the nations budget on education more than anything else. Do we not have the finest schools in the world? But they are only as good as the product produced from them. Money is the answer and I would not mind paying the increases in taxes if we had a smart, reasonable party in charge of these two issues.

I am right with you so when you start the party let me know I am in. I don't vote along any party lines now, I just vote for who represents me the best. I would want strong stand against terrorism, so my kids are safe but I would want honesty. If you screw up and took the wrong road to get there say Hey I screwed up, that apparently was not the best move. I could forgive as long as your honest and try to do the right thing. I would also want someone who was not afraid to stand up to this war against god and christmas. I would want stem cell research that could save lives, but abortion gone. I am for everything you listed as well. We are dreaming though, its just not going to happen. If you run as an independent you have a better chance now than any independent ever did. I think many Americans are tired of both parties. LOL

As a former Demonrat, where I started off my political career 18 years ago, I am now a conservative Republican. I've done as nearly a 180-degree turn in politics as anyone I know. After leaving my liberal ways behind I tinkered with the Reform Party, being an independent and with the Libertarians.
Having said all of this, and been through the process, I am now and likely always will remain a Republican. Neither of the two major parties is perfect. They both have shortcomings and people who are less than desirable on occasion. But then that sums up the entire human race.
The bottom line is I could never really bring myself to leaving the Republican Party. To have great influence in the political system you must work in the political system. Sure, you can have some influence by working outside the system.
To me, it's the difference between looking at a girl you find interesting and walking up and talking with her. Just looking at her is akin to being a independent or third party in politics. She might smile and things might progress but I've seen a lot of guys, over the years, who spend a lot of time and effort just looking. Once you decide to have a real conversation with her, and work on a real relationship, you have much more influence in her life.
All said, I would say that there are new issues that I want to see promoted and put on the agenda. They are tied together but I'll present them separately. One is the abolition of the Federal Reserve System. In 1913 Congress (led by Demonrats) passed the Owen-Glass Act establishing the Federal Reserve System as a private corporation. That same year the income tax was created.
Between 1929-1932 this privately owned corporation sytematically removed, through their monetary policies, $8 billion dollars from the American economy creating and perpetuating the greatest financial disaster/crime in the history of the United States. That's just one example of the lunacy of having a privately owned central banking system. For more information I suggest you read The Secrets of The Federal Reserve by Eustace Mullins if you can find a copy.
The second issue I am intent on seeing progress made on is the elimination of public debt, including Constitutional Amendments (US and every state), and the systematic reduction of taxes by following the blueprint laid forth by Eric Kirkland of Texas. In his proposals, he details how we can reduce and then eliminate both public debt and taxes (all forms of taxes) while still paying for government. Once the Republicans pick up this issue the liberals will lose much of their power because this affects income, sales, sin, fuel, property, tariffs, drivers license fees, auto tags/plates and so forth.
There are a lot of solutions to many issues but the thing we need most is people, like you, who are active in politics beyond merely voting. Go to your precinct convention, county/state and national too, in 2008. Work inside the process and encourage others to do the same. This isn't really about party labels so much as it is about participation, solutions and America.
Final thought: the science behind embryonic stem cell research shows no tangible results that it could do what the liberals say it does. like many of the liberal lies that are told this is just another justification to murder innocent little babies. if you are a Christian you owe it to yourself to do more research on the underlying facts of this issue and oppose it as the Satanic proposal it is.

Legalize marijuana
close the borders
limited welfare
increase states' rights and limit the federal government's influence in each state
term limits for Congress
all marriages have an assumed pre-nuptial agreement (what you get out is what you brought in)
end affirmative action (aka discrimination of straight white males)
repeal "hate crime" laws (all men are created equal)
there are more issues, but that's what I got for you now.

i do no longer see how which will help. We already have those understanding with remembers and direct democracy has infamous problems. One is the final public dominates everybody else. If it quite is an ignorant majority the country would be destroyed via them. the persons, no longer the politicians, are the undertaking and consistently have been. maximum opt to suck from the society and are basically complaining others get to suck better than they do. They vote for any flesh presser who delivers to feed greater to them. those politicians regularly feed their sponsors, pals, and kin first.

Well, according to the liberals, everyone has their own set of values, and it is their right to follow those.
If I want to rape or murder someone in the street, it is my "right" to do so. How can you tell me what to do with my own body?
If I want to make an organization (NAMBLA) devoted to having homosexual sex with underage children, it is my "right" and no one can tell me not to.
The liberals do not want a moral set of values. They want everyone to do what they feel is right.
