a friend of mine is seeing a guy that has really really tiny pupils all the time, even in the dark. he is calm and kinda quiet all the time. but the tiny pupils is kinda unnerving. all the times ive seen him they have never changed in size. even at the club they are still tiny, and pupils are supposed to get bigger the dimmer lights get (its almost pitch black in there except for lights flashing). what is this a side effect from? drugs, etc?

I've been a police officer for the past 8 years and I've arrested numerous individuals for being under the influence of various narcotics. What your describing regarding the small pupil size is called "constricted pupils". This occurs when an individual is a chronic user of of a central nervous system stimulant (eg: cocaine, methamphetamine). Unless the individual has suffered some kind of head truama which caused a brain injury or is taking prescribed medication. Heroin would also have this effect on the pupils. I hope this helps you out

jjthinstrips has it backwards. Small, non-reactive pupils are an indication of drugs, often cocaine, crack, or heroin. Heroin users are often calm and sedate while they are high.

Normal pupils will expand in low light, contract in bright light.

Tiny pupils mean there is no drugs in his system...And they often get smaller in darker places...Must be a cool guy...Bigger pupils, more drugs...And it isn't just the legal kind...All drugs react this way to pupils...
