Every year I get my kids a personalized ornament and they open it on Christmas Eve and hang it on the tree and we have hot chocolate and talk about the holidays.

We're not too much into tradition around here. I guess our tradition would be doing something new each year. We told our daughter at an early age that there is no 'Santa'. We explained that if there were, all the kids in the world would get presents, but there are kids less fortunate who do not receive Christmas. We also don't put up a tree every year. For instance, this year we've decided to do a Hide-And-Seek Christmas. We're going to hide her presents while she's asleep so when she wakes up, she'll begin an adventure.

Of course, we have our traditional Christmas get-togethers at each of our parents homes. Since we are not a close-knit family, it is really nice to get everyone together every Christmas Eve.

As kids, my brothers and I would open some presents on Christmas Eve, and now that we're all grown up and have our own kids, we still go to my parents house Christmas eve and open presents. We'll play board games, have snacks/drinks (happy hour), and then after dinner open the presents.

The town my parents live in also have luminarias that most everyone puts out. So around 4:30, we start folding the white paper bags and filling them with sand, and then we line them up and light the candles. At some point, we drive through town with our lights off and check out the streets totally lined with luminarias. It's also fun to see other drivers slow down along our street too.

I'm 22 years old. Every Christmas eve I spend the night at my parents house. Every year my two sisters and I build a tent in our room out of blankets and all sleep inside our tent. We wake up together and open presents just the same as when we were little kids.

We have a family bowling game Xmas eve. Then we look at lights. If you see a street with good lights you have to whistle then the driver will turn down that street. Usually the driver gets all turned around trying to accommodate everyones favorite street. Crazy, stupid and fun...that's Christmas in our family.

We have Christmas Brunch. The family comes over (only 5 of us) and then we invite some friends because my father acts better when guests are there. Otherwise, he's a pain.

Yes, we watch 'It's a Wonderful Life' every Christmas Eve. My kids didn't like it when they were little, because they thought it was boring. Now that my oldest are teens, they ask to watch it!
