Well they already have passed and got their list completed while everybody was in denial that such an thing could be. I think you are going to see the draft return. You Gov. is also very busily tightening up the borders, especially the one to Canada, so there will be nowhere to run if you want to dodge it.
The first links below are about the Canadian border. The two below that are about the USA selective service act, a service of your republican party.
And those thinking that Bush can not order people who signed up for selective service to be inducted are just wrong and should read the act. The "Draft" is already in place but like so many other things just has a new doublespeak name. And if congress was asked they would not really be able to say no because they already passed it and voted money for it.

While a sitting president certainly has political influence over Congress, and can usually get desired legislation introduced that he supports, only Congress could bring back the draft. If a proposal made it to the House floor, I think one would see a tremendous outpouring of negative sentiment directed, particularly from the military itself. It is unlikely to pass.

You're barking up the wrong tree. That power lay with Congress. And while Rangel, a democrat, wants to see a return of the draft there is no support elsewhere for it.

No. After the elections were said and done with the democrats were talking about bringing back the draft. The next two years is going to be less concern about everything else except trying to come up with everything they can come up with to impeach the President.

Sorry that will never happen the army don't want too many liberal whiners losers and bedwetters being drafted how would that help our nation. if yahoo is any indication of the type of people that would be drafted it would be far worst than anything the terrorist could ever do to us.

No, it's Democrats who want a draft. They think that will undermine support for war, and Democrats want America not to be able to fight wars and win them ever again.
