Sounds like a straightforward FACT that would be in your BOOK or your NOTES or was in a VIDEO or MULTIMEDIA presentation that you were supposed to watch.

Guatemala recognizes Spanish and there are 23 officially recognized Amerindian languages, including Quiche, Cakchiquel, Kekchi, Mam, Garifuna, and Xinca. These are just the recognized - there are a few more spoken by small numbers.

I suppose that's close enough to say "about 20", so it's true.

There are many small communities and villages in GT that probably have their own languages.... all would probably be different variations of each other, but still unique in their own way. I would venture to guess this is true.
