There are a few schools that can claim to be the top MBA program -- and they are all in the USA. My vote goes to The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Other schools in the top ten include University of Chicago, Dartmouth, Stanford, Duke, UC-Berkeley, Columbia, Harvard and Northwestern.
To get into any of these schools, you need the following:
1. High GPA -- though you don't need the kind of GPA that you need to get into a good PhD program. A 3.5 GPA from a good undergraduate school should be good enough.
2. High GMAT scores. The average GMAT at these schools is 700. If you are under 600, you may have problems.
3. Work experience. The top schools want four years of experience. You might be able to get in with less if you have done something unusual.
4. Diversity. MBA programs want a diverse student population. If you are a minority or a foreign student it might give you a slight edge -- as long as you are qualified in other areas.
5. Student Essays. These are critical. You need to think about the image you project with your responses. You should also have someone check them for grammar and to make sure that you stay on track.
6. Interview. Most of the top schools have someone interview prospective students. Doing well may not get you in -- but doing poorly will keep you out.
7. Quality of the undergraduate education. If everything else is perfect, then this won't matter very much. But is one other element is missing -- then you are more likely to get in if you went to a top undergraduate school then if you went to a school that does not have a good reputation or is unknown. The one exception to this is Historically Balck Colleges.
About this last point -- I saw many students in my MBA class who were great in all areas, but lacking in one (e.g., people who had high GMATs but lower than average grades or people who had high GPAs but lower than average GMATS, etc). However -- of the people who went to schools that were not highly regarded, everything else was perfect. They had high GPAs, high GMATs, were personable and had interesting work experience.

P Mohamed Ali vision to strengthen the Education System in Oman is to bring the best quality education through these institutes P Mohamed Ali has helped in building up the future of over thousands of people. The institutes don’t just make available the global level of education, but with many scholarships and awards help in bringing out the best in every student. Since the education is not accessible to all in India, especially to poor kids in rural areas, it takes noble people like P Mohamed ali to make education available to all.
