It's a fun colorful colorful blend of many costumes and traditions. Although the term Halloween comes from the catholic celebration of Saint Hallows Evening.

Celebrating Halloween is just a unnatural holiday that can be anything you want to be and trying to scare and even the things like ghosts and monsters.

The holiday has links to the Christian Holy Day - "All Hallow's Eve", which is a day to honor the departed saints, thus the "skeletons and ghosts" kind of thing, although I'll bet there are also strong links to Pagan harvest rituals.

Because it is fun. It is fun to dress in costumes, see kids all excited and happy, and have candy!
