Because the ancient text has stood the test of time. There has never been a more contested book than the Holy Bible. Jesus said, "the Scriptures cannot be broken." So every word in them will come true. So far, it has come true.
The Bible becomes stronger and stronger and produces more knowledge today than it did 50 years ago. Jesus was not a smart man. Jesus was God Almighty in the flesh and the second part of the Trinity of Jehovah God, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. The One and ONLY True God. Jesus said, "Before Abraham was, I am." Jesus said "If you've seen me, you've seen the Father God." Jesus said, "the Father and I are One." Jesus is the Creator of all the earth and all the heavens.
When the Holy Spirit comes in, He will teach you all things and make the Bible the Word of the Living God come alive to you.
My friend you are blind. You have eyes to see, but cannot see. You have ears to hear, but cannot hear.
Seek the Lord Jesus with your whole heart and He will come to you too.

2nd the old testament was given to moses to write down by god
3rd you must have read the bible because thats what is said that there will be false prophets that will confuse the many and my true church will be revealed during the end times
now i do not go to church because they do not preach what is the written word they preach their own brand eg. lake of fire it exists today in the middle east is is a pit that has been burning for over 2 centuries #2 mount Ararat has a fault where it will split when Jesus comes back and stands on the mount

Our most reliable record of what Jesus said is in the Bible. If we only believe parts of the Bible, what parts? The verses that seem to back war and punishment? Or the verses that talk about turning the other cheek? The misrepresentation of what the Bible means has been used to defend the Holocaust. I won't be part of it, and I ask you not to, either.
Don't chop up the book--it serves no purpose as a set of quotes out of context. Taken as a whole, however, it is the story that changed the world, and continues to change people like me.

Why? If it's new....it can't be true. One of two things are true. Either Jesus is dead and in a grave. Or, He's alive and coming back. You need to quit acting like you're so smart and make sure, real sure, you get it right. Otherwise, guess who's going to end up being the biggest idiot in the world.

Well, after having run the full gamit, from believing, to questioning, to believing again, I can tell you with complete certainty that Christianity is not for the weak-minded. And yes, many of the passages in the Bible are analogies; however, miracles are real. The miracles that Jesus Christ produced gave this world the courage to love one another in the face of a cold-hearted ruthless materialistic world.
If you do not believe in Jesus Christ, what do you believe in? Do you instead believe in televisions, fast cars, alcohol, bling bling, sports, or computers like the ones used to communicate on message boards like this one - - Do you not see that there is more to life than a mere collection of things? The true physical lifespan is a mere grain of sand in the universe. At the most, we might live to be 100 years, maybe a little more if we are fortunate. Here's a quote from Matthew, who was one of the disciples of Jesus:
"The Rich Young Man." (Matthew 19, 20)
Once a man came to Jesus. "Teacher," he asked, "what good thing must I do to receive eternal life?"
"What do you ask me concerning what is good?" answered Jesus. "There is only One who is good. Keep the comandments if you want to enter life."
"What commandments?" he asked.
Jesus answered, "Do not commit murder; do not commit adultery; do not steal; do not accuse anyone falsely; respect your father and your mother; and love your neighbor as you love yourself."
"I have obeyed all these commandments," the young man replied. "What else do I need to do?"
Jesus said to him, "If you want to be perfect, go and sell all you have and give the money to the poor, and you will have riches in heaven then come and follow me."
When the young man heard this he went away sad because he was very rich.
Jesus said to his disciples "I assure you: it will be very hard for rich people to enter the Kingdom of heaven. I repeat: it is much harder for a rich person to enter the Kingdom of God than for a camel to go through the eye of a needle."
When the disciples heard this, they were completely amazed. "Who, then, can be saved?" they asked.
Jesus looked straight at them and answered "This is impossible for man, but for God everything is possible."
Then Peter spoke up. "Look," he said, "we have left everything and followed you. What will we have?"
Jesus said to them, "You can be sure that when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne in the New Age, then you twelve followers of mine will sit on thrones, to rule the twelve tribes of Israel. And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or fields for my sake, will receive a hundred times more and will be given eternal life. But many who now are first will be last, and many who now are last will be first."

because this earth would be a terrible place if there was no god. people would run around killing each other and stealing and so on, people NEED a god and just how did we all get here if there was no god? yea, you have the darwin theory, but where did those monkeys come from? SOMETHING OR SOMEONE had to create this world and whoever or whatever that is, is the god i am faithful to.

There is many non christian manuscripts that have been found showing Jesus' claim to be the son of God/Christ.
Pliney the Younger, Josephus, Tacitus
Many of the eye witnesses had everything to loose if they
believed he was Christ. Paul was a big wig and lost everything including his life as did all but one of his disciples.
So was Jesus a liar? A nut? Or was he who he claimed to be?
The great, "I AM"
