Deliquescence
The process in which a soluble substance picks up water vapor from the air to fom a solution. In order for deliquescence to occur, the vapor pressure of the water in the air must be greater than the vapor pressure of the saturated solution.
Deliquescent compounds:
calcium chloride (CaCl2), zinc chloride(ZnCl2), alkali like sodium hydroxide(NaOH), potassium hydroxide(KOH)., magnesium chloride(MgCl2)

It is said that the solid is "deliquescent".
Deliquescent materials are substances (mostly salts) which have a strong affinity for moisture and will absorb relatively large amount of water from the atmosphere if exposed to it, forming a liquid solution. Deliquescent salts include calcium chloride, magnesium chloride, zinc chloride, and the strong base sodium hydroxide. They are often used as desiccants.
