The inlet is about 35-40 feet deep in the middle.

Point Pleasant Beach is on the south side of the Manasquan River at Manasquan Inlet . The inlet is a dredged inlet, one of the few available on the NJ coast without local knowledge. It is of sufficient depth for large sail and power boats to enter and dock. Itis the only pace to stop between Sandy Hook and Atlantic City. There is significant current and a railroad bridge that remains open except when the train is coming, then it whistles and closes rapidly.
