Tips on how to apply liquid eyeliner

tilt your head back slightly and keep your eyes half-open to let you see yourself in the mirror as you are applying the liner. The line must be drawn on the upper lid from the inner side of the eye to the outer side. Let the liner dry before opening your eyes fully. To soften the look of harsh eyeliner, smudge it a little using the brush. Lower lid is lined from outer edge tapering to the inner side of the eye. Liquid liner has to be applied in one smooth stroke while pencil is applied by stroking the area lightly. Too thick eyeliner does not look good so go for thinner lines. Liquid liners need practice and brushed must always be washed with a makeup remover after using them. If your hand is shaky, stand close to the mirror to provide it support from the mirror.

Always remeber to dot that way your eyeliner will not be a big blob.

Draw a line as close to your eyelashes as possible, starting at the outer corner with a heavier stroke, and then lightening up as you reach the center of your eyelid. You can smudge the line a little bit if you want it to look more natural, or if you want to go more dramatic, add another line above and just overlapping the line you just drew. If you don't have a steady hand, draw dots, and connect them later.

bottom of your eye is more or less the same, but most important. This is the part that, if done incorrectly, can make it seem like you just have circles around your eyes. Draw a line right under your eyelashes, keeping as close to the lashes as possible, again making the line a bit thinner and lighter as you get closer to the inner corner.
Touch up the sides/corners of your eyes. Just kind of dot the area where you think you need more.
Some people also put eyeliner above the bottom eyelash, on the rim of the eye. This can cause burning sometimes, especially with liquid eyeliner! To do this, use your non-strong hand and pull your bottom eyelid down. Now just trace along the top/edge of your bottom eyelid.

Liquid eyeliner is a little harder to control when applying it to your eyelid. Get the liner as close to your lashes as possible and make sure your applicator tip is very fine. If your eyeliner applicator is not thin then you will probably end up with a thicker line.

Next, let your eyeliner dry before applying eye shadow, mascara or other products. This will help eliminate the smudging problem. You can choose to apply your eye shadow either before or after your liner, there is not really a set order. Some say it is better to do it before that way the eyeliner helps to keep the shadow from falling into and under your eyes. Others recommend lining your eyes after your shadow so you don't disturb your eyeliner with your eye shadow application. The sequence basically comes down to personal preference.

A liquid eyeliner or a cake eyeliner that you use with a fine brush will stay on the best. If you don´t feel adept at using these, pencils work well also. Pencils can be smudged for a subtle look. Always hold your head back, look down into the mirror, and apply your eyeliner. This will keep your eyelid skin tight and you can make a smooth line.

p.s. If I were you I would use the eyeliner pencil vs the liquid Eyeliner you have to have a lot of practice to know what you are doing when applying liquid eyeliner ..

But with my tips you should soon become an EXPERT

I use a liquid liner from Avon that is great. It has a very thin tip and the liner is on the inside. Also try putting the liner on the outside of the lash line. You are less likely to get it in your eye. Remember with eyeliner the object is to define the eyes and not look like a raccoon.

Practice. Liquid eyeliner is very difficult at first. You have to get used to it. What effect are you going for? Because if you want to smudge it for a "smoky" look, then you might try this new stuff called "Bedroom Eyes." The bottle actually looks like liquid eyeliner, and the wand does, too. But it is thicker powder. The thing is, you can put it on and leave it as is or smudge it for the smoky look.

A lot of the success here will have to do with the brush. Make sure it is very thin. Dip brush in and wipe off excess on rim of liner container so you don't have a big blob. Keep your eye open and face the mirror. Draw an outline on the eyelid. Thin is better.

Get the get-bent brush from benefit cosmetics. The brush is bent to make it easier to apply liquid/cake liners. Also, here's another key in apply liquid liner: start from the outside of the lid and draw inward. Most people apply liners backwards, thus have a hard time with it.

awww..sorry hun...I bet it stung too huh? Practice makes perfect! I wear liquid eyeliner everyday and I got it down pact.
I close my eye, and put a finger at the end and pull toward your temple, then apply the liner. It goes on smoother that way and in a perfect line. and that way, your eye is closed and it won't get in your eye
Hope this helps

I don't put on liquid eye-liner. Liquid eye-liner looks good at a distance on stage actors and runway models but it real life it just looks harsh. Lining with kohl just looks a lot better.

Don't use the brush that comes with the stuff. It's usually to awkward to use .Get a small ,short handled paint brush, like the ones for model cars ,trim it if you have to-to a point and dip in eyeliner. With one line start at inner corner of eye and sweep out.Practice!
