I'm taking a friend from China to shop for a nice dress for a formal occasion she's attending this weekend... and I'm clueless where to go! Any advice would be welcome.

Kohl's or JC Penney have decent clothes at reasonable prices.
But then again, I'm a guy.

JC Penny's in Plainfield, Kohls in Plainfield, Macy's in Castleton. If you go to Castleton, stop at the Posie Patch in the Linens 'n' Things plaza. It's more expensive, but also more formal. I didn't know exactly how formal you wanted to go. Good luck!

Check out Ross or Marshalls. They usually carry a lot of department store and brand names for a lot less.
