I was about 4 or so. My little brother had started walking, and my older sister was 7 and had a habit of carrying him around in a half nelson. I watched him arrange some things in the hallway, and had no idea what he was doing, while she was back in her bedroom. Then he stood at the end of the hall and started wailing. She came running down the hall and tripping tripping and slipping and falling over all the little traps he had set up. She hit me for laughing, then hit him, then mom ran in and yelled at both me and my sister. He is still devious, but he should have been an engineer.

The earliest memory I can recall is when I was about 8 mos. old. My grandfather was holding me on his lap while he sat in an Easy Boy chair. I distinctly remember the leather scent of the chair and the tactile sense of touching the hair on his arms.

sitting on a porch swing with my grandfather, sharing a can of crackers and potted meat. I remember just being in awe of him and loving that experience as he looked down at me and smiled.
He was a retired coal miner and lived a hard life, but his loyalty to
me and the rest of his family have been unparalled to any experience I've had with anybody else sense.

When I was REALLY young, I remember I was in my crib, and my parents were painting, and I reached over to the bedside table and pulled down a whole bucket of paint onto the carpet.

When I was two, my family looked at a large yellow house, with a garden hose on the side of it. My parents swear I shouldn't be able to remember it, but I was able to describe it to them in detail years later. (no, we didn't have any pictures of it). I guess I was upset at the prospect of moving from home.

I remember wanting a horse when I was 2. I remember asking for it everyday. For my third birthday, my dad brought home a toy horse to ride on, and I was not happy. I told him to take it back. I finally got a real one when I was five.
