When my mom got pregnant with my sister, she gave me a Baby's first Christmas stocking as a present. Then she told me "We're gonna need it next Christmas".

A friend bought everyone knitting needles and a ball of baby wool with a note saying "Get cracking - you've got until March" :-)
Handing out "World's Best Grandma/Grandpa/Auntie" badges or cards is a great idea also.
Another friend bought everyone earplugs :-)
Congratulations to you and all your family on the upcoming new addition. You sound like you're going to be a fun Mom!

Get them Grandparent mugs, shirts, etc. for Christmas. If this is your first they'll get it and the gift will always be special. My mom was on the phone with me when I decided to take a preg. test. Never thought in a million years I would be pregnant. Neither did they. Now we share a very special moment forever.

I was on a feeding frenzy and got sick while eating dinner. When I was done in the bathroom, she asked if I was still hungry...I said yeah...she said when are you due? We both cried! He(my son) was my mom's special friend, buddy and grandson. He will be 25 next month and is expecting his first baby at the end of May. Too bad she is gone or we could both cry again! Merry Xmas and conrats.

We gave my wife's grandparents a kiddie picture frame with a note inside announcing it.
For her dad, we typed a paper out saying:
"What do I call you?" at the top, then a list of different names for grandfather, followed by the due date.
My mother was at my brother's for Christmas, so I called her there and asked her if she would like to spend the NEXT Christmas with her other grandchild.

When she asks you what you need or want for Christmas. Tell her;
"I need one of those cute little 'baby's first Christmas.' Ornaments from Hallmark for the tree next year with 2007 on it If you can find one? and by the way... That's what Im getting you too!"
She'll get it... After about 10 minutes of reeling and figuring...It'll be fun!

Well I sat my mom and dad down and told them that I had something really important to tell them. So they sat down on the couch as I was sitting in front of them and I just told them both. It wasn't nothing special but I'm glad I did it.

I have a habit of surprising the hell out of my mother. Last Easter, we dropped in on my parents, and we get in the room, and I ask my mother, "hey, Mom, are you going to have any cases that will put you out of town, say November/December?"
"No, why?"
"Oh, good, because we're going to have a baby."
She about collapsed right in front of me. She actually needed to sit down.

Go and buy them a gift for Christmas...something like a T-shirt which says "world's greatest grandparent" or just a pacifier and let them open it.
When they do, they will look at you questioningly, and just smile your happy, 'I'm pregnat' smile at them. They will get it soon enough.
They will be thrilled, and always remember the gift!
congratulations!
