I have heard the argument versus Vanessa Williams twenty years ago. The loss of her crown was good for her career in my opinion.

Times are not changing, money is talking. Trump can not afford to look like the mean thug that he once was. He has to play the "tough guy" boss with a soft heart now days. He is now just an on-stage actor, not a true director that he once was. If his image gets tainted then all the sand castles go tumbling down. Trump is a brand and the brand has to maintain the image in order to demand a value. Tara Conner was a just a lucky pawn in this game. And she was very lucky. But, not for long.
And you are right about Vanessa Williams. Unlike Vanessa Williams, Tara Conner will disappear into the oblivion very soon. After the cry-baby press conference she now becomes expandable. Like the Frank Sinatra song, "Riding high in April, shot down in May.." A simple little poof, and then they are gone.
Tara Conners of the world always come and go. Cheap publicity! No big deal! On the other hand, women and men of substance always rise to the top. Always!

I think Tara Conner would have done a lot better if she was stripped of her crown. Vanessa Williams became famous/infamous because of the Penthouse shots, being the first black Miss America and being stripped of her crown. It put her on the map and suddenly everyone wanted to photograph her or hire her. Now, think about this name: Suzette Charles. Who is she? She is the one who was given the Miss America crown after Vanessa Williams resigned. Ever heard from her again since then? I don't think so.
If Tara had lost her crown every magazine would have been bidding to feature her in a photo spread. She would have gotten book deals, movie offers, etc.
