i am American Indian. i can tan with using SPF 30 in less than 15 minutes. i think white skin is absolutely gorgeous!!! (it also wrinkles less noticeably)

when you use the tanning lotions , here's how to do it:
exfoliate well - elbows , knees , heels , fingers and wrists etc.
apply lotion (nothing with lanolin) to entire body.
mix the tanning lotion with regular lotion (1/3 tanning lotion, 2/3 regular lotion - or even 1/4 tanning lotion 3/4 regular) use much less tanning lotion than regular.
let set in for about 4 to 6 hours. reapply the mix untill you get to the correct color.
this should allow you to get some color without turning orange.
if the tanning lotion has been opened for over 6 months, throw it out and purchase another bottle.

I'm Irish as hell to, and I feel you. There is this awesome new product by Jergens called "Natural Glow." Now, it might sound hokey, but I've used it, and it works. It isn't an incredible bronze color that everybody has after tanning for months, but it is a light glow that adds a hint of shimmer. Since we are Irish our features are meant to compliment pale skin, so being brown just wouldn't look right on us. Use the lotion after you get out of the shower everyday. Its not tanning lotion, so you don't have to be soooo worried about streaks, just massage it in. After about a week you will have gradually tanned about 3 shades darker. You may not notice, but someone will compliment you, I'm serious, it happened to me. Oh, be sure to wash your hands after the application, it doesn't do the same as tanning lotion, but wash them anyways, just in case...( : Good Luck!

What's wrong with being Irish and white-skinned? Fairness has it's own beauty, male or female. You may never tan anyway, just burn, even with a high SPF.

Do you want to look fabulous for a lifetime instead of a dried-up wreck by the time you're 45? Stay out of the sun!

Just embrace the fair skin. I think it's attractive.

If you can't completely do that...

Wear a foundation slightly darker than your natural skin tone and let hosiery cover your legs.

I've read some of the more expensive tanning lotions are more subtle and don't turn your skin orange.

Don't tan, natural color is always the prettiest
