White socks will look tacky. If they are dress shoes they need to be worn with dress socks. With brown shoes and khakis, tan or brown dress socks would look the best. You could even wear argyle in earth tones. White socks are for sports or when you are wearing jeans and dressing down. They look out of place when you are dressing, "smart casual". Don't feel bad I have been dressing my husband for years.

I would get some brown dress socks to wear with khaki pants and brown dress shoes. An indescrete pattern or design on them would help make them look like there were not just an extension of your shoes.

Brown shoes, brown socks.
The way I've always heard it, your socks should either match your shoes or your pants... so if you're not going to wear brown socks, pick a color that matches (or goes with) the pants you are wearing.

Get some different socks. Some dark brown, or argyle or something...I think it would be way too uncomfortable to go without socks with dress shoes.

Yes. You need to buy trouser socks to wear with your dress shoes and pants. They are thinner and not terry cloth like athletic socks. You can find them anywhere from Wal-Mart to department stores. Don't spend too much on them though, because they tend to get holes in them very easily. Try to get some with a reinforced toe, if you can find them.

Your socks should match your pants!
Do NOT wear white gym socks with nice pants & shoes! Ask any girl, they'll cringe at the thought of that! :)

I had this dilemma this morning. White is a definite no. I went with brown socks. Black socks work too.

the colour of your socks could desire to tournament your belt and shoes. when you consider which you're donning brown shoes, i'm going to anticipate you have the experience to placed on them with brown or tan gown pants or healthful. some vegetables are okay to placed on brown shoes with too. Blues, black and grey could desire to all have black shoes, socks and belt.
