I hadn't had sex in a year and a half until last night. It was very painful and not enjoyable at all. When he went all the way in and hit my cervix I felt sharp pains and eventually had to tell him to stop. Could this be some kind of infection? I can't get into my gynaecologist today. Thanks

It's completly normal for some women to experience pain when their cervix are hit. That really doesn't mean something's wrong with you at all.

But if you experienced pain all sex long, there might be a problem yeah. Tell me, have you used lots of lubrication ,were you really aroused and wanting sex, were you relaxed when you both did it ? Have sex been like that also before : painful ? If non of these things seem to be the problem, then I'd suggest seeing a gyn about it. Because, yes some infection or STDs can cause painful sex, like for example gonorrhea.

It doesn't necessarily mean you've got an infection or STDs going on, but it is also safer to be sure.
