If the question is "what are the major history events since 1945?" the the chronology should logically begin on 1st January 1946, in which case the one example you provide - World War II (which ended during 1945 and not after 1945 - is irrelevant.
You would also have to specify what you would consider to be a "major event". 1968 is a year that is synonymous with the French student uprisings but most americans living at the time would be more likely to associate that year with the Vietnam War.
The question you're asking is too broad to be answered in a forum such as this and your inattention to detail in posing the question erroneously (ie. your WWII reference) doesn't exactly inspire me to propose more than this in the form of an answer.

There are a TON of major historical events since 1945. You have to be more specific about the context of the major historical events. Political, economic, union, policy, social welfare, military, etc...

Korean war, Bay of pigs, sputnik, Kennedy assasination, my birth, the beatles, breaking the sound barrier, viet nam, moon walk, Mao tse tungs death, Gang of four, Nixons disgrace, fall of the berlin wall, Nafta, actually there are way to many things to mention. Major history happens weekly.
