It sounds to me like they are a little on the arrogant side.

As far as I'm concened, that's exactly what it is Reallyfedup. It's arrogance and selfishness hidden vaguely under the guise of respectability. Using abstract, grandiose sounding language rather than telling the plain old ugly truth. It's like all this talk of religious and political tolerance; tolerance just means you put up with something! So if you cut to the chase, someone who claims to be tolerant is really saying "You are wrong and I am right, but I'm too scared/hypocritical to state things as they really are or how I feel, so I just won't say anything out of line to your face." In the case of wanting someone to mirror you, it's a case of 'I love myself and everything about me. Boy, I sure hope you live up to these same standards or I won't be happy for long and as we can't have that, you'll be shown the door'. I think that about sums it up! :-)

It would depend, I dont think people really want a person who's life mirrors theirs but more of a standards for moral excellence.
Maybe this person is more wanting someone who has commonalities with themself.
I rather like the fact that my husband and I complement each other yet are total opposites, and its very endering to hear him say I am his better half without me he isnt whole.
