well, it's realy hard to answer this question before putting artworks into categories:
painting:
no place in the world could yet compete the italian masters of the XVI century..scientists are till now working on analysing their techniques and artschools till now consider their artworks as study references in painting,design and anatomy
best artwork ( monalisa)
sculpture:
althouhg italian renaissance sculptures were distinguished and adorable..but still EGYPT stands as the place that produced the most creative sculptures during 4000 years...egypt is considered now the very greatest opened sculptures showroom ever.
best artwork (tut ankh amon golden mask)
architecture:
best artwork (pyramids of GIZA) egypt...scientists and architectures are still revealing it's secrets till that moment

these are the top three that i know of.
all their beauty and fine arts are made just for the eyes of the beholder.
it's wonderful colors are to say the lest is be-on it's splendor.
the heavens really opened up to it's fineness and it's real beauty.
look at the world of color and you can find that the main colors are to your likings.

Italy is known for alot of great masterpieces from many masterful artists. Divinci, Michaelangelo, and many, many others. Alot of great pieces were done in catholic churches on the cathedral ceilings and also alot in their architecture.
