This link is from a UK story saying robots will have rights. Huh? If I own the robot, can't I do with it as I please? Will robots have feelings too?

It wasn't so long ago that people believed they could treat animals how they liked with no regard to their feelings. And at the height of the slave trade, fellow human beings were treated as property with no regard to their feelings. So the day may come where robot rights falls somewhere in the currently accepted trends for the treatment of animals and humans.

We're not their yet, but the day may well be coming... (Including the recognition of 'life' as something more than a biological concept.)

I don't believe robots can ever have rights as they are not living beings. They are machines. I don't personally think that artificial intelligence or artificial emotions are ever going to be possible.

Only biological organism can have feelings and intelligence.
