Unfortunately you are looking at about £1000-£1500 depending on the company and deals available at that time. The fact that you are male is not ideal and although you are 20, you can't expect to get it much cheaper than a 17 year old. You are doing well to be going for a smaller car but an audi is obviously not the cheapest of small cars so will also bump it up. Consider taking on a high voluntary excess to keep the premium a little lower and depending on your general financial situation (i.e. whether you could afford repairs/replacement after an accident) stick to 3rd party only until you have built up some no claims bonus. If you can keep the car in a garage overnight and it has an alarm etc this will also help.

Try Tesco, Direct Line etc for the lowest prices but local smaller brokers can also offer good deals for young drivers sometimes.

Best of luck - most importantly take the time to shop around - it can save you as much as £200-£400.

Wow that sounds like brain damage cost to me , you are under 25 which means double insurance you are buying a high number insurance car and you will only just passed your test , and driving in the highest insurance area . even if you bought the lowest cost car like a mini i would think that £1200 would just about cover it . i can only help by saying the lowest cost insurance that i know is Tesco , Good luck

there is a company called yougn marmalade where the car comes with 9 months insurance then you get 40 % off if you have 9 months claim free driving. You have to do pass plus though. When I get my licence I will go with that company as it sounds good
