Maybe flyign jackets, maybe some small flying bikes?

How about using some type of craft that had wings that rotated around the top? That might just work... now if only such a machine existed...

Many such machines have already been built and tested in the past. But they were expensive and also not very safe. But what advantage would it give you when you have cars and helicopters. They can carry more passengers and a bigger cargo.
One person has even designed a car that would fly!! But I do not know who will buy that.

We can already fly without airplanes.
It's called the Mag-Trains, they float (aka fly) on giant magnets.

yes it is possible.
when the jet pack will be invented and will be available for individual use one will be able to fly without planes.
