No, because likes and dislikes
- define you, are the expression of you (you can battle against you, but you cannot change the reasons why you have had certain preferences so far)
- have a true meaning when felt instantly, spontaneously.
- do not allow you trick yourself do something you do not believe. Your self understands it and reacts, often with the opposite results (unless you have really serious reasons for changing your mind, but again if so, you don't even have to try to "like something...". It happens naturally). It's a waste of time and energy.
There are other feelings to use in certain situations, though, instead feelings of preference. You can feel respect, tolerance, indifference etc.

Yes, just to make the other person happy... it was a long time ago and it ultimately did not work out.

Ended up much better because of it!!!

My daughter-in-law, because she is married to my son...Most selfish ***** I ever knew, and it's not working!!! Haven't seen my son in over a year, and it was 2 years before that.

I tried to like my mother-in-law but she's an evil coniving, manipulating selfish bit*ch. I would never stop my husband from seeing her though.. it's his Mom.
