And get an overall check up every 25,000 miles

Telling us what car it is would help a lot.
If its a Geo Metro thats way too much.
If its a Porsche or Ferrari your probably getting a good deal.
40,000KM is about 25,000 miles so service is due.
At very least get oil and filter changed and have the brakes checked out, a lot of brake/tyre shops do it free/cheap.
You shouldn't need to change brake fluid/coolant unless its more than 2 yrs old (although annual replacement is recommended for brake fluid)
