If I'm understanding you correctly, you are using Internet Explorer and when you nagivate to www.yahoo.com, the browser freezes or stops responding. First this has nothing to do with whether you are using a Dell or HP computer. Are there any error messages? Have you tried deleting your temporary Internet Cache? Could you also provide details to your problem.

IE Security setting for internet too high, make normal.
(tools->internet options->security)
Also some trojan could have put Yahoo in the restricted zone on the Dell, check out.

Try Firefox on Dell to see if it has a problem.
If it does, then get your PC malware checked. Also try running winsock2fix, if your stack got compromized as well.
