I have always read in newspapers & magazines about today's young actors labelled as metrosexuals. Please could anyone tell me what exactly is a metrosexual?

its like a guy who is throughly bred in city life , who takes extra care of himself i.e. looks , dressing etc so as make everyone feel that he is the most attractive in gathering , much like wild animals in the forest who show off thier skills to attract other females

A straight man who is preoccupied with his appearance and grooming to the point of being mistaken for gay, but not cool enough to actually BE gay. Metrosexuals are obsessed with designer labels, and they regularly get facials, manicures and pedicures, and wear lots of cologne. Metrosexuals spend more money on shoes than those chicks on Sex in the City. Metrosexuals are also completely preoccupied with their hair. Some of them even get streaks and highlights.
P-Diddy is metrosexual. Larry the Cable guy is not metrosexual. Ryan Seacrest is gay, but not cool.

A guy who looks like a homosexual, you know the style and attitude, but his sexual preference is straight. For example I think Ryan Seacreast has openly annouced he is metrosexual.

It’s a dude who although not technically gay, is in touch with his “feminine side”. They are into such manly pursuits as manicures, defoliating, and wearing ‘pretty’ scents such as lilac, etc.
Obviously, these guys are city slickers (i.e., live in a metro area) because in a rural setting they would be laughed out of town and merit an *** whooping.

A straight guy that LOVES to look good all the time! (almost like a vain woman!)
They send a lot of time in front of the mirror! they practise their run way look!
They take a lot of care in looking like "moviestars" and work out a lot! but they are actually straight!
Think Brad pitt and his fellow wannabes! LOL!

i think that it means that i guy is straight and everything...he just cares more about his appearance than most guys do...(and some girls) i dont know if thats completely correct..but thats the way that i think of it. my friend is metro
