Dreams are usually related to the preceding 48 hours. You don't include that information so I can only speak in the broadest terms. Also, no info on the emotional tone of the dream. I suspect humiliation, frustration, fear... Hands are a symbol of power. Finger nails a symbol of aggression. French tips... I don't know, it's probably fraught with personal meaning... But, social position, a special occasion... are you getting married? Vanity? Did somebody insult you and you want to scratch their eyes out but are suppressing the anger? Have an itch you can't scratch? Want a Mercedez but can't afford it? We need more info...

Usually when you dream about losing your nails or teeth you are suffering from some form of anxiety. Find out what you may be feeling stressed out about and try to come to some kind of resolution; if it is indeed anxiety over ruining your nails then I suggest not spending inordinate amounts of time and money on such excess.

I bet you are extremely vane about your pretty hands. That is probably why this particular symbolism. Plus add to it that your hands are very important. Without hands, how would you do anything.
Is someone in your life giving you a hard time trying to make you feel useless? Just a guess.

the nails are an unnatural part of your body so in a wake state you are probably cautious of them and then when you sleep your subconsious is still protecting them making them show up in your dream state.
