How is it that all these people make all these internet viruses???

Let me make one thing clear... there is nothing so special about a virus. It is just another computer program. What makes it dangerous the malicious activities triggered by it and its ability to replicate itself and attach itself to other legitimate files.
People make virii for lots of reasons. I can't give an accurate listing of things that drive virii programmers (one can just speculate about these things... there is no way I can get into another person's head!), I can just make an approximate guess. Some possible reasons include:
1. Thoughts of instant fame and recognition.
2. Publicity for a cause/organization.
3. Egoistic ideals.
4. To prove one's supririority etc.

If all these people are really genius, can do something better for the society rather than destruction, or can come up like another Bill Gates..

believe it or not. most of these "virus-makers" are from reputed software companies. suppose person A is working in a company B making games, he can make a virus that currupts the game. his company will be benifited as A will have to buy the game from B again.DOBLE PROFIT!!!
the immence compedition in software market has ignited such kind of abuses.

They have been fired or have been slighted by someone, have gone sociopathic, and seek revenge.

They were abused children.... or maybe they were never spanked when they needed it.
