07jaggard - What their saying is truth to them. We should all learn to accept constructive critisism and rather than go 'how dare there say this...' why dont we try 'what makes them say this?' This would help us understand the real issue... thanks for the answers so far, feel free and keep them coming ;)

Unfortunately, most Non-Black people think(believe) in
what they see on the T.V.programs,movies,or what the
media portays alot of the time. But it's really Sad that in
our present day too many people are still stuck on stupid
having pre-concieved ideas and grouping every culture
together as if people are not individuals. I've found that
too often Whites deeply believe that all blacks are the same without ever even having a 30 second converstion
with a black person. You never know you may have much more in common with that person than another white. You
may be surprised in that I may have the same opinion on
Politics,World News, or any other Topics as some of you.
But what can one do when Ignorance Seems to be so
bliss for some people. In my time here and on different
jobs, as well as on the news I've seen other cultures; like
Asians, Hispanics, Blacks and Yes Even Whites, who
have been quite Ghetto,ignorant selfish,stupid,liars,money
hungry, Racist,cheaters, murdering,criminal-minded, drug
addicted, etc.. there are these type of folks all over the
world and Especially in precious "America". It's too bad
that in our present time people pre-judge and do so very
poorly and don't even know that they're lacking wisdom
grouping a whole race of people in one catagory I'm just
glad I don't think of all white people as if they have the same heart, mind, or soul as Jeffrey Dahmer,Hitler,or that
Helter Skelter guy. I have always had friends/co-workers
of other races yes white included and from day one I
looked for the good first and not the color of their skin in
befriending them. Now I'm not naive, I know that there is
a sad reality which most of us have horrible habits of only
looking at appearances and outward views of others. But
I guess the jist of what I'm saying is INDIVIDUALS are
what we are people!!!! Just because your brother may be
a drug-dealer or your sister may be an alcholic I Honestly
would not automaticlly believe w/o a doubt that you're just
as they are. I rememer I took a Med-billing course and
one of the two white young lady's in the class(as we had a
little 10 minute break or somthing) getting to know each
other and having a few laughs, one of them says, I am
20yr's old and if I may be honest i've never had a conversation or have spoken two words with any blacks
in my whole entire life, and I just believed what i was told
and what i saw portrayed on the news etc.... she said "if
I hadn't taken this course with you guys I never would have known that any of you were so nice, respectful, fun
or funny or especially down to earth and that you discuss
alot of what my family and friends do. I just want to apologize for thinking how I did before I met you guys(:
See, Just try to Remember none of us are perfect no not
one(that's Bible). And some whites live, love and laugh in
the same ways as some Hispanics, Asians, and (INHALE)
even some Blacks...Wow....you guyz O.K.. out there?
Also know Good and Evil can be in anyone, anywhere at
anytime, in any-Culture/Household. There are many folks
white, black, whatever who are like myself, respectful, nice
considerate,honest,clean(hygienally,housekeeping),hard-
working, helpful, etc...and there are some people who are
ignorant, lazy, nasty, dishonest, dirty, and all the negatives you can name in every race. So use Wisdom walk in Love, and try not to judge God does Not need our Help
trust me!!!!! Peace(:

I think black people (my people) are beautiful, talented, smart, funny, athletic geniuses, teachers, preachers, professionals, students, innovators, inventors, ect. I could go on and on. I think you are going the easy way out doing research on black people because too many other folks are a little too eager to give their opinion. Write a book about white people and ask Yahoo Answers what they think of them......That would be so interesting!!!! Matter of fact, I think I might pose that question.

Do you think I would put MY PEOPLE down or accept what these people thought? I truly hope not!

Are you sure you are writing a book? I don't think any potential author would type "guyz' rather than guys. If so, please clean it up.

Why? What difference does it make? I must admit that I'm a bit curious about the type of book you will be writing! Do you really want us to tell you what we think or you just hoping to start something?
Okay, you really want us to tell you what we think? Here goes!
I think, the question is ridiculous! If we don't stop doing this it will never change! The world, I mean! If we never grow past this we will continue to believe that skin tone and color have some significance in the out come of our lives. People are people no matter what they look like and this world would be a horribly boring and faceless place should we all look, act and speak the same! I'm tired of the silliness of the same insignificant questions that have no baring on anything we do.
If you want to write a book, why don't you write a book about the corruption of government and what it means to it's people. Or a nice book about the distinguishing marks of African birds. Or, perhaps, a children's book !
Just a bit of what I think!
Have fun with this one!
Blessed Be

Wow, that's such a general question.

My dad was an inner city cop when I was a kid and we had to live in the city where he worked. Black kids used to write on my clothes in 2nd grade. A group of black boys who were 12 and 13 beat my 7 year old brother up and used to chase us home.

Where we live (a safe distance from Detroit) it's a little scary at times. I hate to say it but I'm afraid when I see a black man in a parking garage or on the street when I'm alone.

Detroit is a bad area. Black people here have a not so good name and partially because other black people have done bad things. Still, as a white woman, I am not taking any chances. If a person makes me feel uncomfortable at all, I avoid 'em. That's why I try not to go to Detroit and I stay in the safer suburbs.

I find that many black people in our area here feel deserving of help just because they are black. I dont' get that.

If we lived in a more racially balanced area, it would be different.

Well i know that they are the most influential with music, clothes, and that they have paved the way for many who try and imitate...many black people are blessed with a beautiful nature and any race mixed with black....is always very beautiful.....black people have been persecuted forever because of their colour.....but yet i see many other races trying to tan themselves so that they could reach anything close to looking healthy and beautiful like black people, black people are blessed with beautiful coloured skin, and their skin does not wrinkle as fast as Caucasian skin, this is fact they truly are a unique race, they also know how to enjoy themselves, and have a good time....they know how to party.....and they are people of dignity, and style which is copied world wide.

(I am a specilaist, in public health...)
People think of black people the same as of all other people in the world.
You either love others, have respect for the aspects of their personalities that differ from your own, or you do not need other people that much in your life.
What does "black" define to you?
I am coming from the country where the Movement of Non- Aligned countries was established, so my family has never made comments concerning other people's color of skin, looks, cultural backgrouds or the like.
Does my answer satisfy your curiosity? I could tell you more.......

there is good & bad in all races. It just seems like the Blacks are into more trouble, more of them in prisons,or involved in riots for simple little things. I once tried to get through a group of young people on a side walk, and the black kid,was the only one to say, excuse us for blocking the path.

I think that black people are really truly no different than any other people. Each race and culture has different idiocyncricies but other than that we are all people. Some good, some bad.
