No, I am pretty sure they want to see them on the front lines instead and that they are pretty tired of being used to clean up a their mess in Iraq. Or at least this is how I felt when I was in the military.

For all the people who believe what the Internet and CNN tells them...Most of the military votes Republican (Main reason Gore tried to disqualify the Military Absent T votes in 00)...this is a fact...most of the military supports the war in Iraq...this is fact...most of the military see the Democrats as people who take away benefits and pay...this is a fact...most people in the military are not tree hugging hippies...this is a fact...CNN gives you the few examples of soldiers who get out and become Democrats...those are usually the ones that whined and complained all the time and just joined for the "college money"...I am a medically retired veteran (retired in 04) and I now work for the Army as a civilian, so I deal with solders day in and day out...I know from my times overseas and deployed I would have much rather have seen someone like John McCain than Hilary Clinton...for all of you who think the military has forgiven John Kerry, you are wrong...that was not a joke he had been making remarks like that his whole political career...and just because there were soldiers there to see him...remember we do what we are told to do...instead of shooting from the hip with your hero liberals...go talk to some soldiers, they will tell you what they think...I know I have...

I was a manager in glass factories for many years and we often got visits from higher up mangers (sometimes with almost no notice). It always involved doing hours and hours of extra cleanup, making the place look good and presenting a good impression.
I imagine the troops probably feel about the same way that I and my employees did. All that work for someone to walk through and take very little notice. It's just a bother.

I'm sure some do but most don't.
leogirl is very delusional. How is it that 80% of the military are Republican while they are in the service but when they get out most end up being Democrats and even run for an office as Democrats?
I feel sorry for people that watch Fox News on a regular basis, they are some of the most misinformed people in the US.

Actually yes they do. If you look at the voting records the Military votes Republican by a large majority. Funny isn't it that the people most against the war are the ones that don't have to fight it. Don't know anything about it. Amazing isn't it that now that the Democrats are in power they don't want to pull out right away either. With the exception of people like Pelosi, who put in as the head of the intelligence committee a person that doesn't know Sunnis from Shiites, does not know who funds Al-Qaida and who funds Hezbollah. Passing up one of her own with years of experience and knowledge. Even tried to back-stab her second in command. Shes a winner for sure!

It's amusing to read that although the Republicans got us into this mess in the first place & caused the largest deficit in History, they're already blaming the democrats ["We'll see that all of America is actually desperate when the Dems get in, steal half my paycheck and we are all starving to death".....] before they are even in. Same old, same old!

We'll see that all of America is actually desperate when the Dems get in, steal half my paycheck and we are all starving to death. Then maybe you can support my kids for a change.
Hey, now, Studbolt after me. My oldest daughter is headed for Iraq. I fully support all of my children going and the troops are never sneaking in and out, they are there continuously. You have no clue what you are even talking about, yet you feel so smart by mouthing off. If you were a President of any Nation, you would not go anywhere that was getting bombed by making yourself a target first.

Since 75-80% of the troope ARE Republican, I don't think they mind at all. They would like to see a democrat every now and again in hopes that someone in the democrat ranks would have somewhat of a clue to the actual truth of what is really going on in Iraq.

The troops need reassurances that the Republicans won't let the Dems snatch defeat from the jaws of victory and make the soldiers' sacrifices to have been in vain, as the Dems did in Vietnam.

You would think after three years it would at least be safe enough to announce planned visits! But noooooo, we slip in and out under the cover of darkness and secrecy, like scared rabbits. Oh yea, we're winning...
