We have day and night because the Earth rotates. It spins on it's axis, which is an imaginary line passing through the North and South Poles. The Earth spins slowly all the time, but we don't feel any movement because it turns smoothly and at the same speed. The Earth takes a whole day (24 hours) to make a complete turn.
At any time half of the Earth faces the sun. This part has day. The other half of the Earth faces away from the Sun. It receives no light. It is dark and has night.
The sun is the source of light for day. -

The earth is on a giant axis, turning around at speeds of about 1000 mph. Since only one half of the world can be in sunlight all the time, half of the time it is night, the other half day. The entire cycle takes 24 hrs. The axis is tilted, so if you go up to Alaska during the winter, it is perpetually dark. The winter is when we are slanted away from the sun. Vice Versa in the summer. The reason we don't feel dizy, going at such fast speeds, it because we are used to the earth's constant spin.

Since the Earth rotates all of the time, we have night and day. The sun is the source of light for day, so that any time half of the Earth faces the sun, this part has day. The other half of the Earth faces away from the Sun and receives no light so it is dark and has night.
In midsummer in the Artic it is always daylight and Northern Europe and North America have long summer days. In Antartica at this time, it is always night. However, in midwinter it is the other way around. Antartica has permanent daylight, while the Artic is dark.

Day and night are cause by the rotation of the earth on its axis.
On an average 12 hour of sun light(day time) and 12 hours of darkness(night time).

Hi! this is shama. we have day and night because the earth rotates on its axis and half of the earth is facing the sun at a time. the earth is a sphere, not a flat surface, so every body can't have the sun at the same time. the earth rotates on it's axis, and that's why we have day and night.

The earth rotates around the sun and also rotates on it's own axis from the gravity pull. So as it is rotating on it's own axis one side of earth is facing the sun and that is day, the other is night.

The world rotates once every 24 hours. The sun is in one spot. Sometimes you're facing the sun (day) and sometimes you're facing outer space (night). Look up some info about the solar system if you're interested.

we have day and night cos the earth i round.when it rotates one part faces the sun while the other side is the other way round so when light falls on the exposed sie the other side is dark cos the exposed side is solid and covers the opposite side.so which ever part of the worl is facing the sun light falls on it and we call it day and whichever side isnt facing we call it night.
