My brother learns what we are saying better if we show hm sorta what we mean rather than if we say it to him. Is there any other ways to tell him what we mean?

So far he knows:

finger up to mouth: stop making noise
point to the corner: time-out
hands up as if to say raise in a court: you can get up now
shake head: no
take his hand: follow me

I taught my one year old sign language. You can actually buy a DVD that shows them how to do it and what it means. It was very helpful, cause it was a learning tool for me as well as my older daughter. She was 4 at the time. They also have all kinds of books that show you how to do it. Although, I always wondered if I was doing them right. You can buy the books at any bookstore and the video I ordered off of amazon.com. Good luck and have fun.

Get a book on sign language. Many kids pick up signing before they can pick up language.
