Are you seriously that ignorant?
Those names AREN'T any more weird than any other name in the world. They're inherent to their culture. Different culture, different language, different kinds of names...
Wow.
I really hope this question was a joke.

I'm a Chinese and I've never heard of names like youmi, yungi, merae, imbong. For chinese.each and every character has its meaning and several characters match together to form meanings. In fact, if u know Chinese, u will discover Chinese names have even deeper meanings than English/Christian names. Do ur homework before u ask questions like this.

Those Chinese names might sound strange to u because u don't know Chinese. Chinese does sound a bit strange so that is why u find these names weird. They might find ur name weird. Every language is different and so it seems weird to those who r not familiar with it. Besides, if u try to find the meaning of their names in Chinese, u'll see that their names do have good meanings.

I'm Chinese and I have never in my life heard of names that go like "youmi, yungi, merae, imbong". Seriously, where did you get those from or did you just made it up?
Youmi sounds like a Japanese name. Merae and imbong sounds like place names in Malay. And yungi is ... fungi?
If you want to insult Chinese culture then do some homework first, otherwise, you are just disgracing yourself.

Well, HELLO, Chinese people have a basis in a language other than English (Chinese perhaps??) So it's safe to assume these names have cultural meanings based on their language and customs. They may feel American names are weird.

Wow, that is a pretty ignorant question. You must be very ignorant. I'm glad you're asking the question here so you can be educated. Make sure to take notes. People name their kids meaningful names. What's "not" meaningful to you, has a deep meaning for other cultures.
I'm not Chinese, but I find that question very offensive.

Sometimes its part of their culture. Maybe their names mean something of value in Chinese. You never know. I personally felt the same way, but its most likely they think "Whats up with American names?"

usually their name are base from the pronunciation of their own alphabet/character that symbolize sounds for each meaning(japanese called it kanji). for example: chi, lee, etc.To us, the pronunciation of the name seems kind of weird..but to the Chinese they have meaning such as gentle breeze, brave tiger etc.

Your name is supposed to be music to your own ears. We all like different music. Right?
