people are brainwashed to celebrate things by family religion and peers.
many festivals in the guise of religious festivals such as new year, christmas,easter and birthdays have their roots in paganism and fertility rites.
sometimes it is hard to stand out as different to opt out of these celebrations, but you cannot live your life to please others when you know in your heart something is not right.
