Because we had a tiny mad thought that we could be separate from our Creator. This has led to us 'dreaming' all of this up.
This is a difficult concept to believe with our tiny human minds. Who knows how much truth lies in this idea. Time is probably an illusion which in reality doesn't exist. In reality our true state is that of just being the consciousness of love/peace/joy /light to a degree that we cannot imagine in our current state. This is what I sense as truth.....I can't explain it any better than that. It's like having a morsel of a distance memory.
But what I do believe is that there is so much more to life and existence than we can possibly understand with our limited human minds.

The purpose of the Human existence is to express the glory and awesomeness of God. Even though the original purpose of human existence was squandered by Adam. There is still hope for humanity through Jesus. The original purpose of God for human existence is peace, and tranquillity. This is I believe shall be restored at the second coming of Jesus through the establishment of His Heaven Kingdom on earth. Paradise.

One word, choices. Life is about choice, and the ability to make them. But in general it's about the pursuit of the meaning of life, not just human life, but all life, everywhere. It's probably the biggest quest any of us will ever take on, but it's there for us to ponder.

I think our many steps in life are simply one big step in the existance of everything. We help someone or something reach an end that we probably won't see.

Truthfully, it's a test.
Pass or fail.
With the life that your given, without the excuse of environment and the blaming of others. What did you do with it? And why?
Will you pass the test?

We exist because of time. If there were no concept of time we would not have a conscious and without a conscious we wouldn't know we existed.

I'm a Christian. The Bible is quite clear about our purpose in life-to find God and worship Him, and do His will for the good of all. His love, grace and kindness to us is unbelievable, and when you becoem a Christian you will experience that. There is a Christian saying: "Love God and do what you like"-when you _do_ love God, you will do as He wants you to, and your life will have meaning and purpose. It's wonderful!
