When I was in the third grade after xmas break the teacher ask each child to stand up in front of the class and tell what they got for xmas. Well you can imagine the list of things these kids had. Mine was pretty good too. But one boy stood up in front of everyone and said " I got a red truck" I have never forgotten that. How can anyone believe that this is a holiday that thier god approves of when so many people are hurting because of it?

wealth is not an accurate measure of happiness. i have enough money to pay the bills and i am very happy with my friends and family. I could care less if i get anything for Christmas. however if everyone were rich then poverty would be measured on who had the least Ferrari's and the smallest mansion. life is what you make of it. as far as genocide, people have been killing each other in the name of religion since the beginning. no army ever went to war without their god on their side (both sides of every battle). so if this is so traumatic for you i say why not get off your **** and go out into the world and help, toys for tots, soup kitchen, food drives, write to a soldier who is far from home? i mean the world will not improve if all we do is complain. action saves the day. do one thing today to make the world a better place.

The Christmas time used to be just that, now it is all ads and sales and commercial crap..Just think who celebrates it and who is in the background not celebrating it with you---the store owners are not...also think of THEIR background and beliefs too. Certainly NOT Christians or of any faith that believes in it either, but they will take your belief and your money and destroy you both financially and spiritually by getting you into debt over your stupid belief VIA all the ads out there that Christmas is for buying gifts for all ......WRONG...get back to reality and what it really means by celebrating Christmas. A real gift is a gift given by you and not from a department store or any rich Shmucks outlet store either. Get a gift that means something and you will be a better person for it and so will the one you give it to.

Maybe he really liked his truck? Someone I know said that their local priest used to ask kids in church what they got and one kid was really nervous and all he could think of was socks. So maybe the kid with the truck got stage fright.

My mother always wanted me to ask for clothes and I wanted tech stuff...I was slightly spoiled about clothes--people gave me beautiful outfits that fit me and I really enjoyed which left the way open for what I really wanted for Christmas that parents could afford...

If that is all he got, then that is sad...but MAYBE, it was his favorite and he just mentioned that.... My granddaughter sat on Santa's lap last week and told him all she wanted was a Barbie...(she has 7 of them and doesn't hardly play with them). But that was all she could think of at the time.
