I installed it a few weeks back, but when i went to my computer, it wasnt there. I went to the control panel, and used the "Add Hardware". But it was already there. I went to the Device Manager, and saw that it wanst "intialized". How do i activate it? How do i use it in my computer?

Are you using the new drive as a second storage device? If so make sure you have it set as a slave drive, if it is an IDE drive you'll need to set the pins on the back correctly.

You can also try right clicking on the drive via the device manager and make sure it is enabled

It needs a partition, as in, a drive letter. Without one, it's an expensive paperweight.

Right-click My Computer, hit Manage.
Disk Management
Select your new drive, make a new partition.
For a secondary drive, one partition for the whole thing should be good.
